Finding your magic

HOW HANNAH ANSTEE, FOUND HER MAGIC & EVERYTHING CHANGED

YOUR USP NEEDS NURTURING

My guess is if you’re reading this, you’re already pretty self-aware and business savvy. You probably know generally speaking your strengths and your challenges…you have a ton of experience and your business is your passion not a job.

But maybe deep down there’s a niggle that you haven’t really dug far enough to carve out a confident niche. You might be tiptoeing around instead of shouting loud and proud - this is me! Perhaps you just haven’t yet found the courage to commit fully to being you.

I’m going to be brutally honest right now, very few people in business let alone in life actually know HOW they’re special. In business it’s referred to as a USP or unique selling point, I kind of prefer UNIQUE SPECIAL POWER. Yes you are unique and glorious in your own mind blowing way. Let that sink in. Nobody else is you. Nobody else can do what you do, but how on earth do you communicate your unique ‘specialness’ to the masses in an authentic way?

Many people make the mistake of thinking that customers will just come to them and word of mouth works to a point but they really don’t know how to go about attracting ideal clients. Your USP is the one thing that makes you stand out from the crowd. What makes you different?

A little scene setting, Hannah was a successful former journalist for Yoga and Wellness magazines.Hannah has travelled, reviewed and ‘retreated’ at some of the most incredible places and studios in the world. Hannah is spiritually ‘woke’, self-aware and her coaching is top notch, she knows her clients needs and is confident in her service offering. She absolutely knew what she wanted to say BUT wasn’t sure how to say it. That’s where creating a cohesive brand can really help. Everything becomes clearer when you have a consistent visual aesthetic to focus you.

Hannah already knew her clients were solo women who needed some help with their life path and self-esteem (me, btw!) She didn’t know how to speak to her ideal clients in a compelling way so that they knew they needed to work with her, she didn’t really have clear brand messaging, nothing was fully consistent.

From this one golden line of text I created Hannah an identity to reflect her unique personality, to really showcase her authentic self. When Hannah saw her new identity her response made me blush!(humble brag alert!)

OH MY GOD! It’s incredible ! You're a genius! I love it so much...thank you

I’m still blushing tbh and working on accepting compliments (with the help of Hannah as my coach!) I guess that’s the power of design. You should fall passionately in love with your identity or else what’s the point? Hannah already had a website, fonts and a colour palette so I adapted what she had and made everything sit together in a toolbox that really works for her.

I love how empowering brand and design can be as a process it really forces you to streamline your offer to the world and focus on your niche.

It’s a real process of self-discovery and Hannah is thrilled with her new identity, which makes me a happy brand designer! Her magic was always there, bursting to come out. What we managed to do in the flow of collaboration was really find and focus her magic, much like a wand or a crystal quartz point, we had to channel it in the right places to amplify it.
